Hey, Rob DenBleyker here.
I wanted to personally say hello (again) to the Newgrounds community.
Our NG debut "The Hard Way" is really exciting to me, probably way more than it is to anybody else. To you guys it's just a dumb little animation, but to me it marks a long overdue return to the site that spawned my career, and the careers of my friends at Explosm.
Way back in 2001, at the tender age of 15, I submitted my first animation to Newgrounds. After that Newgrounds basically became my home. I made a handful of stick figure animations (Joe Zombie got the most attention) and met a few really great people who I work with professionally now.
After Cyanide & Happiness took off, all of us became more and more distant from Newgrounds as we collectively shifted to webcomics instead of animations. Then, sometime last year, we thought to ourselves "We all know how to animate more or less. Why'd we stop doing that?"
So now we're sort of shifting back. Dave and I are animators at heart, and with Chase from Tomorrow's Nobodies on the team we've got some good stuff coming your way.
So on behalf of myself, Dave McElfatrick, Matt Melvin, Kris Wilson and Chase + the TN guys, I'd like to say thank you for your great feedback on "The Hard Way", but more than that thank you for being such a badass group of people through the years. The support Newgrounders give each other is an awesome force, and we largely owe our success to it.
It's good to be home!
